From Ambition to Action: Norwegian Construction in Ukraine's Reconstruction
11.08.2026 kl. 12:00 - 12:45
MS Lofoten ()
The reconstruction of Ukraine represents a historically significant responsibility for society as a whole, with the construction sector at its core. How can Norwegian actors from this industry contribute their expertise, technology, and sustainable solutions to the reconstruction effort, and how can public and private instruments better facilitate increased engagement and activity?
This event brings together the Norwegian construction industry, public authorities, and financial stakeholders to discuss how we can lower the barriers to collaboration in Ukraine. How should we address risk and security, and how can we translate political ambitions into concrete projects?
We will hear introductory remarks from the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine (TBC); Minister of International Development Åsmund Aukrust from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (NUCC). These will be followed by short, practice-oriented pitches from Norwegian companies that are already engaged, or wish to engage, in Ukraine: AF Gruppen, Snøhetta, OBOS, and NOCON. SINTEF will share experiences from ongoing collaborations and demonstrate how research, innovation, and partnerships can help overcome existing barriers.
The event will conclude with a reflection from Kharkiv—those who know the situation on the ground best: does Norway have solutions that truly meet the needs?
